The highly-anticipated ram mandir that crores of Hindus are eagerly waiting for five centuries is soon set to become a soothing reality after Prime Minister Modi lays its foundation stone for the mandir in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh on 5 August 2020.

The Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teertha Kshetra Trust has also issued an appeal to all saints and Hindu communities across the country to perform puja in their respective temples from 11.30 am to 12.30 pm on 5 August, to mark their gratitude and prayers on the day on which Prime Minister Narendra Modi is going to lay the foundation stone of the Ram temple in Ayodhya. Due to Corona, only a few of the selected people have been invited.

The grand Ram Temple in Ayodhya will be based on a 30-year-old model designed by the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP). The model was developed by the Ram Janmabhoomi Nyas in 1988 but after saints from Ayodhya demanded that the temple should be big or magnificent, Shri ram Janmabhomi teertha trust announces that Ayodhya’s Ram Temple will be 161-foot tall with five domes earlier it was 141 foot tall with two domes ONLY, The temple is 270 feet wide and 360 feet long. 

The new temple complex will have a prayer hall, a Ramkatha hall, a Vaidik gurukula, a sant niwas, and a place for yatri’s to stay and other facilities like a museum and a cafeteria for visitors. The temple which is getting built is in the form of an ancient nagara form. VHP says that they are expecting very high footfall as people are very enthusiastic about visiting the temple. So we thought its size should be increased. Once complete the temple complex will be the world’s third-largest Hindu shrine

Once the ‘Bhoomi-pujan’ is done, the construction work will start and is expected to be completed in three and a half years. The L&T company has been selected for the purpose, most of the machinery and materials, has already reached the spot and the work will start on the foundation day.

The trust intends to launch a nationwide outreach to connect 10 crore families to crowd-fund the construction of Ram mandir which will fulfill the need for its most of its finances.

In order to boost the local infrastructure Ayodha and its neighbouring district, the Uttar Pradesh government led by Yogi Adityanath has also announced development projects in Ayodhya worth Rs 500 crore. Out of Rs 500 crore worth project, foundation stones of Rs 326 crore worth projects will be laid on the Ram Mandir Bhoomi pujan day itself while Rs 161 crore will be used as the need arises.
