Kerala local body polls 2020 live Updates:
Counting of votes for the local body election in Kerala will be held on tomorrow. The counting process will start at 8 am across the state.
Initial trends may take a little longer this time due to the surge in number of postal ballots due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
The elections tool place at a time when the state is battling COVID-19 pandemic and the Election Commission had put in place strict norms to ensure adherence to COVID-19 safety norms.
Despite the Covid-19 pandemic, Kerala reported 76 per cent voter turnout this time.
In 2015, LDF emerged as the most successful coalition securing 549 gram panchayats, 90 block panchayats, 44 municipalities and four corporations.
The LDF and UDF drew level at the district panchayat, winning seven districts each.
The BJP-led coalition came third with 14 gram panchayats and one municipality.
