Tiwa Autonomous Council

The election for the 36-member Tiwa Autonomous Council (TAC) Concluded on Wednesday in parts of Morigaon, Nagaon, Hojai and Kamrup (Metro) district which the BJP is setting its eyes on.

Voting takes place for the Council, amid tight security and by following Covid-19 protocols. A total of 124 candidates are in the fray in the council election.

According to the Assam State Election Commission, 80% of voting registered in Tiwa Autonomous Council in Assam in 410 polling booths.

The BJP is contesting on 35 council seats while its ally party Asom Gana Parishad is contesting on one seat. Congress is contesting in all 36 seats.

The counting of votes will be held Tomorrow.
